A delicious winter time salad.
This has a good balance of contrasting flavors: the peppery bite of the tender baby kale, the buttery fall pear, pungent blue cheese, and the crunchy slivered almonds all combine in a balanced contrast of flavors and textures that is very satisfying.
You will need:
2-3 cups tender baby kale
1 small or a half of a large just ripe pear (your choice if type)
About a 1/3 cup of blue cheese crumbles
2 tablespoons slivered almonds, pecans, or walnuts
2 tablespoons of your favorite vinaigrette
To assemble, layer the salad in the order given and drizzle the vinaigrette over it all.
